XJ to tall for SWEEP
Well I have been chasing rally cars as a sweep in my cherokee, 4.5 in. lift with 33x1250x15 tires for about 5 years. i am getting older now and want to lower it to a 3in. lift with 31x10.50x15 tires. I also have bushwacker 3in cutout flares wich i think i will replace with fiberglass in the front. So who makes and sells the best and cheapest set of 3in coils for driving though the woods fast? thanks

Re: XJ to tall for SWEEP
Full traction sells a nice 3.5" coil that I loved paired with my ACOS pro's. Also, try out skyjackers cut down to 3" if you need to be that high.

Re: XJ to tall for SWEEP
Probably the best, and stiffest, pure 3" coil is the Rancho. But, you're current 4.5" coil will be stiffer the shorter it is, so if you want it stiffer you could experiment with cutting a little off of your coil. Pretty easy to cut a coil with a cut off wheel, cut half a coil and see what you get, then cut another half a coil and so on.

Re: XJ to tall for SWEEP
Me and a friend use our Cherokee's to run sweep as well. His has a 3" lift with a 2"OME coil and 1" spacer and it handles great.

Re: XJ to tall for SWEEP
Just looked at the ome coils and why the 2in with the spacer? they sell a 3in. do you think because the coil is shorter with the spacer then the handling will be better. or just get their 3in heavy duty? the 2in are medium.

Re: XJ to tall for SWEEP
A pair of OME 934 springs should get to you about where you want to be. Should net about 3-3.25" They are technically a V8 ZJ coil but will work fine on an XJ. Quite a few people run them

Re: XJ to tall for SWEEP
You could run a 3" spring. I was just saying what he runs and that it works well.

Re: XJ to tall for SWEEP
I think the ome 3" coils are a new. I know they use to only have the 2" springs but that was a few years ago when I was looking into them.

Re: XJ to tall for SWEEP
The previously mentioned site, http://e-crewnw.com/, describes what sweep is.
The real question is, what is more important in a forum post, proper capitalization or spelling? You decide. Last edited by bline; June 16th, 2010 at 10:40. |
