rear axle question

Im tryin to decided which rear axle to go with. I am looking at a 8.8 or 9in out of a car(forget which one). They both are about stock width with disk brakes. The 9in is only 28 spline and the 8.8 is 31. I know that the 9 has more of a aftermarket then the 8.8.

Which would yall do????

If its a 31 spline 8.8 then its out of and explorer or an ranger fx42. Most likely out of an explorer. Its a very good axle and a common swap for xj. There is a company that make a kit to install the 8.8. I would go with the 8.8.

The 8.8 would be out of a explorer, also the 9 is 5 on 4.5
