Brand new blower motor immediately burnt out

My quarantine project has been to tackle the dreaded heater core replacement. I decided to completely rebuild the HVAC box while I had it out, so I replaced the AC evap and blower motor as well.

When I put it back together and started it up, no air came from the fan, and white smoke started coming from the vents almost immediately. I ultimately ended up pulling the HVAC box back out and found that the brand new blower motor was completely burnt out.

Any ideas what might have caused this?

Why? A POS motor, the fan blade was jammed and couldn't turn, who knows?
Was it a genuine Mopar motor or something from a faraway county?

What year? Did you replace the blower resistor? How was the wiring leading up to it?

Usually, when they smoke it is because they aren't turning, fan jammed.
