WARNING, bogus pay pal email

Just got an email proported to be from pay pal till you look at the headers. In it it asks for your bank information. I have never used paypal ever. It shows as coming from ''[email protected]"
header shows as from 12-219-170-62.client.mchsi.com (HELO compuserve.com)
The login request redirects to:www.client-support.biz/paypal/pp.php

Did you report it? If I was you I'd report it to both PayPal and a federal agency (FBI Internet fraud center for example http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/strategy/wn052301.asp ) although I'd probably call fbi type folks personally (I don't trust the "file now wait for results" process)

It's already been reported...that's been awhile for awhile (I saw it on snopes one day)

Thanks for the heads up. For those who don't already know, identity theft is quickly becoming the number one criminal activity. We had someone from the local police dept out to our store recently to review important proceedures and to help us be more informed about the problems. They said they have three times as many detectives working on identity theft and other financial based crimes as they have for homicides or burgleries.

The above e-mail is exactly the type of thing that they told us to watch out for.

This email (and it's ilk) have been running around for a while. I got one 6 or 8 weeks ago.

Good indication that you don't always want to use the short cuts you get in email, especially unsolicited email.

Also watch for similar eBay scams. In short, as everyone is supposed to know by now, NEVER give out personal information via email.
