Winter wheeling at RPM's NW/WI

I applogize if I offended, it was not my intent to do so. I must have had a bad day at work or something :flipoff:

The handle I thought was amusing. It was a handle given to me by a group of XJ guys I used to wheel with when I owned a Sidekick :)

Should have blamed it all on your wife. Used to work for me before she became a member.

I will quietly let my membership expire and will not post on NAXJA again.
There are plenty of people who enjoy my company, and they are not in the porn-laden MWC.
When I first joined, with Led, Bucky, Alfalfa, and Samurai Steve, I thought this was a nice group of guys.
Boy, was I wrong.

Lets see if Gil can talk to the girls at the exit or the dungeon to see if they'll come down and give ron a golden shower....."on the house"

So... I take it that no one is interested in the run at RPM's.

If nothing else, they will have runs this summer. The trails are challenging enough for the largest trucks and range from 'difficult for a stocky' to 'just about nothing gets down this trail'.

I've done a few trails there, lots of fun! Couldn't imagine getting very far in the snow though. I'll wait untill June or July.

I'm a class III hitch away from going. I'll be working that out tonight or tomorrow night. I'm gonna tell the boss I need to take a personal day for Friday to make sure I've got all the loose ends tied up.

Maybe I should say screw it and just ride along as your spotter or winch man..... :laugh3:

See ya at the meeting tonight Ron!

Steve

You'd be surprised what a stock XJ will do. Especially if you unhook the front and rear sway bar and add a cheap lunchbox locker in the rear.

Although, with the mud and snow you would probably spend most of the weekend on the end of a strap but you should check it out in the summer. Most of these places have bypasses to the tough obsticals or trails that cater to the non modified vehicles.

I would be interested, but my jeep won't make it over anything in stock form.

The RPM run isn't one you'd want to do stock, but Steve's right, a XJ will go many places stock, and if it's disconnected, go even further. A tad of lift and 235X75X15's and a good driver, and the Jeep will go many places. Mod #1 Rock Rails :)

Went up Saturday. Excellent weather, excellent company-good times!
The #1 mod of the day was bolted tires. The guy bought some used skins from a local tire place and stuck bolts through from the inside. An XJ with F/R lockers and studded tires is just about going to go every where in the winter!

You mean this fellow here?

Pretty much went where he wanted........until he blew out the rear DS.

that's just too cool!

If I lived in a climate that was apt to get snow, I'd be doing that to a set of 31's I've got in the back yard right now....
