Seen it, not a bad concept.

Go to amazon.com, search "OBDII scanner", you will be surprised at what is out there for $100 or less.

Some months back I scored an Actron CP9145 that does both OBDI and II for less than $90 with free shipping.
 
Been thinking on this some more. Where this would be really great would be with the Renix!

Real-time Renix and you could capture data while driving--cool.
 
I've got an older one of these. Kind of cool. Will show you graphs of things like how long it takes engine to reach op. temperature, etc. Great for spying on the kids or the significant other as well, (if you are into that....Complete trip details including time/date, distance traveled, speed).
