Speedometer Needle Realignment

I made the mistake of taking the needle off my speedometer in my '95 XJ and it seems to be mis-aligned now. When I initially installed it aligned with the stop, it was WAY off but then installed it pointed below the stop (and rotated it back around) and it was close to accurate. However, it is still about 5 mph off. I can live with it but I just installed a lift and will be likely re-gearing (3.07 gears and 31s is not an ideal combination) and correcting the speedometer with a new speedo gear. As such, I would like to correct the error in the gauge itself too and am hoping someone has an idea of the best way to ensure my needle is properly aligned.

Any help is appreciated.
