For those not familiar with this skid it bolts to the rear subframe channel behind the rear bumper and uses the gas tank strap mounts in the front which is why it will work on any year with or without a hitch and I am sure their are skeptics but I ran it on ny built xj and dragged it over stuff and it never moved
