P0320 code - crank position sensor signal lost

Jeep runs great. After a longer drive if it gets good and warmed up, if you shut it down for 20 minutes to about an hour or so, it will then crank but not fire. Turn ignition off, wait even just 5 seconds, fires right up and again runs great.
Dealer CPS did not resolve issue. Swapped CPS with a buddy did not resolve issue (and buddy didn't inherit issue). Pulled apart loom wires all look great and volt/ohm check comes back great.
Anyone else have this issue and find a fix? Kinda left scratching my head on this one.

Have somebody look at the signal synchronization. Is the cranks but no-start a separate heat soak/check valve issue ?
I dont believe so. The crank/no start is the only symptom, and it is was is tripping the 320 code.
Also, both links you posted are concerning the distributorless ignition system. My 98 isnt distributorless.

I am aware of that, but the distributor can also be incorrectly indexed, and any timing chain can stretch.

Have somebody look at the signal synchronization.
