I saw in a couple of the other threads that Richard and Jeff were toying with the ideas of putting D60 outers on their D44s. I'll go out on a limb and assume that you would switch to 35-spline axles, too. I was considering doing the same thing but had a couple of questions for you or anyone else who has some insight about this:
What type of inner and outer knuckles would you use, stock or aftermarket? If aftermarket, which company?
Preference between kingpin or balljoint?
Would you retube the axle? If so, what OD, thickness, type of steel tubing would you use? Retain the dimensions of your current front end?
Also, what type of locker would you use (I'm not sure if anyone other than ARB has a 35-spline application for a D44)?
Thanks.
P.S. Let me know if this isn't advanced enough to be here. Not being a smartass and I don't want to clog up this area with topics that should be elsewhere.
