Need help ASAP

Ok here is my issue I have a '91 Cherokee Briarwood, last night I was going to pick up my wife, when I unlocked it, even though it was already unlocked, the security alarm went off and hasn't gone off, I unplugged the battery before going to bed and figured I would let it clear. Then this morning I reconnected the battery, and still nothing. Any ideas, thoughts, comments, suggestions, experiances.

is there a switch to turn the alarm on or off under the dash.

Disconnect and reconnect the neg terminal on the battery, the headlights will blink continuously, but the horn should not sound -- then use the remote entry to lock and then unlock the doors. Now you should be able to start the engine.

put the key in the driverside door and use the key to unlock the door...

that is how most alarms are cleared...
