Can anyone confirm D30 cover bolt size and length? 5/8 X 5/8 or 5/8 X 1/2? 3/4 length if you are using a guard? Or is it an M metric?? Don't want to pull a top bolt and do the "compare" thing.

Lazy bum!

Wouldn't the length of the bolt depend on the thickness of the diff. guard?

5/8?....bolts are sized (except for the antiquated British Wintworth sizes) by the nominal diameter of the bolt shank, not the head.....in the case of D-30 cover bolts...they are either 5/16 USS by 1/2 or maybe 8mm std. (maybe 1.25threads per mm?) by 15mm or so....I have never needed to check for sure.

for what its worth - it has a 1/2" head...

as in it takes a 1/2" socket when you get off your ass and check it...

you need one that is the same length as the stock + the thickness of the diff guard with the same threads as the stock bolt...
