AC Clutch Cycling But AC not on?

So this is weird...my A/C clutch is cycling but the A/C is not turned on. The system dial was set to defrost/lower foot mix (the heat side ...not AC side) and the temperature mixer was set to warm.

Any ideas on diagnostic procedures?

It's a 2001 Sport.

That is normal, the a/c engages in the defrost mode to pull moisture out of the air.

You have no issue.......carry on.

Ditto. It's also meant to make sure the a/c gets run periodically in winter so the compressor seals don't dry up and leak.

Well it’s also to pull the humidity out of the air fogging up the windshield, at least around here it’s a must
