Gouge on Rear diff

Hello all. I have a decent sized gouge on my
rear differential (Dana 35) It’s not very deep but goes most of the way across the face.

Last time I changed the gear oil I used RTV and it didn’t leak. I was planning on using a Lube Locker Gasket this time. I never used them before and was curious if I would still get a good seal with this scratch or if I should do some other prep work.

You are absolutely correct. You saved me some frustration there. Scratch and C8.25.
