The Frog Blog

The LJ looks good Kelly. You should bring 'er up to Sierra Fest this year.

I saw the SC posting for Sierra Fest, but I'll be in the Swamp Lake area on a Cal4WDC run a few weeks later. I'm not set up for the Rubicon yet and am not sure I'll be done with the lift and tires until later in the year.

Is that not what the 'trail rated' and 'rubi' are intended to mean?

I drug my rear with 33's so 31's would be too much fun for me to do.

:wstupid:

Ive been through the Rubicon on 31s before and swore i'd never do that again. I don't need to drag my ass over every rock for entertainment. Ill leave that for you younger guys.
In an XJ or a TJ? Don't you have lovkers and a belly plate?

I've been through a few Jeeps in the past couple of years, so I figure I'd post a pic or two to old Frog Blog. I've been searching for another XJ project but have been disappointed in the high price for all the crap that's out there, at least in the SoCal area. Knowing that, I wish I had kept my '99 XJ, but it was time to move on.

I sold my red 2005 LJ Rubicon, as well as the very cool off road trailer that I built up, and bought a '99 TJ Sport with manual transmission. After dumping a couple thousand $$ into that and being disappointed in wheeling a manual transmission on the rocks, I sold it and started looking for something else.

Meet Orange Dog, my 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited in impact orange. It's on 35's with aluminum AE rims, chromoly shafts in front and rear, bushwhacker fenders, Warn bumper and winch, and tons of other fun parts inside and out. Hands down, its the best Jeep I've owned and far better than the red 2005 LJ Rubicon from a couple of years back.

Kelly - Great to hear from you man ! I remember that red LJ , That thing looked cool for sure.
Glad to hear you are still jeeping hard these days.

Yeah the XJ prices are insane these days. Stupid high, for garbage . Light bars and rough country lifts .

same here. I can only see one pic

After I sell my RV, I'm planning a beater XJ project and will renew my NAXJA membership. I might even find a 2WD XJ and build it as a pre-runner for the desert.

The kid is trying to move back to Sacramento and will have his 2001 XJ that he's wheeled for the past 10 years. He likes to hold on to his vehicles...I like to buy and sell and regret it later. It's a thing.

Good to hear from you bastards. Hope all is well.

Damn good to hear from you too. Now that you have that sexy orange ride you can join us on a couple runs this year. And you should renew your membership anyway. The annual membership drive is a couple months away!

Wait til march if you renew!

None of the pics work- tapatalk pro?

Good to hear from you Kelly. Had a little problem seeing your pictures but I'm sure the orange Jeep is great. You should come and do the Reno run with us so we can swe it in person...and you too of course.
