I and several students from the school of mines are planning a trip out to moab during our spring break, and we were thinking the more on the trip, the merrier.

So, the plan is to meet up and leave as soon as our classes get out friday the 12th, drive down to moab, camp and wheel till the 16th or 17th, then drive back home.

Anyone's welcome to join our group, even if it's just for one trail or for the entire time.

Here's a loose list of the trails we might run:

Cliff Hanger
Fins 'n Things
Metal Masher
Poison Spider/Golden Spike/Gold Bar Rim (as a threesome)
Steel Bender

Again, we're still in the process of planning this, so if you're interested in coming and have suggestions, feel free to post 'em up!

The official planning page is here on facebook

Cool, look forward to seeing you there. The only 2 things we've planned so far is that we're probably doing Cliffhanger & the north side of Fin's on Sat, and the trifecta on Sunday. I'll post up our actual schedule once it gets closer to march

No worries, check 'em out on traildamage.com

They have a rating for each trail, and the levels are explained fairly well, just see about where your rig is on the list, and compare it to the rating on the trail

Rating system:

Cliffhanger:

Trifecta (poison spider mesa, golden spike, gold bar rim):

We're also planning on staying at the slickrock campground in case anyone wanted to know

Ok, so the official plan is to depart the colorado school of mines at approximately 5pm, arrive in moab at some god-awful time in the morning of the 13th, then go to sleep.

We'll be staying at the slickrock campground, so if there's anyone else staying there you should speak up so we can meet up or something :wave1:

The morning of the 13th, we'll probably wake up around 8, eat breakfast, then at 9:30 we'll all meet up at the City Market in the middle of moab, gas up and grab any trail food needed, then around 9:45 or 10:00 we'll depart city market to the trailhead.

That leaves us with the decision of which trail(s) to run.

I'd heard one suggestion of running cliffhanger and then heading up to fins 'n things to do the north side of it. That sounded pretty good to me, but if anyone had any other suggestions, post em on up.

As far as communication, my cell # is 303-854-7782, so if you can't make the meeting time or something like that, give me a call. After we meet up on monday, we'll talk about what we want to run the next day(s), and I'll send out a facebook message and post on here to give everyone the information.

I've also posted this up on colorado4x4.com and on the facebook planning page
