Re: full traction dented my shock

I dont see how it was FT that caused the shock to be dented. Making sure everything is clearenced before wheeling or driving ones rig is something that needs to be done first. Id give FT a call, see what they say, and go from there. Looks like you need 1 shock, and then clearence the bumpstop mount.

Re: full traction dented my shock

Are they monotube shocks? How dented are they? If they're twin tube shocks they'll still work with a slightly dented exterior. Either way, do as recommended above and fix the problem before it gets worse in the future.

Re: full traction dented my shock

the dent is about the size of a quarther and 1/4 inch deep. its a low priced skyjacker shock. the piston stops at the dent and dont allow the shock to compress. it kinda sucks that i dented the shock but the jeep flexes like crazy!!!!

Re: full traction dented my shock

Cut that corner off the bumpstop plate, buy a new shock and be done with it.

Re: full traction dented my shock

happened to me as well.... just grind off the corner. Did you install any axle shims in there when you put it on?

Re: full traction dented my shock

If you used shims, that's why they hit your shocks. They (full traction) wouldn't have used shims and wouldn't have run into axle tilt issues that you would when you install shims.
