Electrical Gurus - Inverter Wiring

Okay, I need some wiring tips from the electrical gurus on here. Specifically, I need to know what gauge of wire to use to:

1. Run 12VDC to the inverter under the passenger's seat. Should be six feet or so of wire.

2. Run 120VAC to the tailgate. Let's say 15 feet.

Thanks everybody!

EDIT - Didn't give enough information - it's a 400W inverter.

I(current)=P(watts)/E(voltage). 400watts/12volts=amps. 400/12=33.3amps
I think #8awg (should be good for 40amps) would befine but it never hurts to go with a larger size wire. make sure you fuse the wire though.

Second that

As far as the 120 v goes, that inverter will only supply about 3.5 amps (400/120=3.33), which won't run too much. Anyway, you could run 14 ga without any problems.

hope this helps
