I couldn't bear putting those nasty 70's interior door handles back on my Jeep, so I found some $5 ZJ (or 97+XJ) exterior door handles in the junkyard and used them. I don't have door cars, just bare metal.
All I did is drill one hole and use an existing hole. I mounted them at a 45* angle like the stock handles. They go right over the angled line above the "cross" in the door.
Anybody know why those crosses are there? I guess you just pray when you don't have any side impact beams.
