My jeep build with photos over the last few years.

Started out as a non runner. A day under hood had her purring.
Then fabrication started pretty much just cutting more and more sheet metal off.
Shes sitting about 2" of lift with 33s no bump stops.

Plans for this winter are to finish front fenders and do rears. Rears will be cut to door line and fabbed out of 1/8" so I can more easily bend to mach door contours and ad tubes tied into the 2x8 slider. Finish inside with 1/4" so shocks or coil buckets can later tie in or be cut through and brackets fabbed.
Thought about double triangulated rear with air shocks offcourse bump stops just cant clear in the rear due being limited on how much body can be removed.

If I have time a 4 link on raised mounts at the axle end. Short or mid arms. Well frame stiffners first. Cant decide to build or buy. 200 bucks is cheap and slap em on.

Off in the distance will be d60 and probly 70rear. For now the little axles work. My rear 35 I welded. She goes well

I'll add photos to this thread as we go. If the photos work.

Enjoy all your builds and rigs on the forumn.

Been planning to add tubes for awhile.

Tube is actually 1.25"sch40 poo pipe bent in my 1 3/4" die. I'm pretty rusty bending. The thing leaning on jeep extends my pickup bed for a sled and acts as a ramp..

Been getting into fabbing lately for work and play.
First time I've broke out the bender in a few years. It still works just takes me forever to figure out bends. The poo pipe is available at plumbing store. Should work well for bumper fender type stuff.
Gota finish welding passenger side start and finish drive then gut rear fenders.
Almost started on rears today but decided I better finish the front first.

Thanks
Run mostly 035 flux on the jeep and 1/8&1/4" rods at work. I have burned some dodge track bars with 1/8" 7018 on a rolling jig I I fabbed.
Probably put rear fenders down on the list. I want a solid steering and track bar first I think? Front tires mostly coverd makes it so its drivable in wet conditions.
Been getting back into the jeep groove lately at least on fabbing side.

My 1st welder didn’t have gas capability — a 110 volt Lincoln wire feeder — burned a lot of .035 flux core with that thing — never had a problem, just need to clean it up before 2nd pass and never cared about the wind when welding outside

I’ve also run a lot of 7018 — mostly 1/8 with the occasional 3/16 for fixing excavator buckets — 1/4” 7018 must be like welding with a baseball bat

Lol yes it is
I decided I suck t bending tubes .cut driverside it with the torch cheating pipes in now.

Still burning these fenders in. Decided to run some 1/8" 7018 to save wire. Alittle more burning to.

Ran some 7018 uphill and 035 flux. Kinda rough looking but will work.

It got dark so I've been messing with the angle finder looking at rear fender angles and cut lines.

More to come

Found a box for cheap and decided it's time to get rid of junk in the shop.

Haven't done much on the xj in a few days.

Been distracted working ok n my sled.
Did bar riser and gutted the muffler.
Pretty tickled with how the bar riser turned out.
Hoping to see improvements from the less restrictive muffler hopefully not the other way.

Did a set of cats on a suburban too.
Xj is still sitting

I came here for a jeep build and about all i am seeing are pictures of a dodge truck and pictures of a snowmobile. Not much for pictures of work being done on said jeep.

Couple months in. Today finished burning fenders and took it for a shake down. So nice not cover the windshield going only 5mph.
Not much of a hard core trail. Ounce it thaws out little more this trail gets fun.

Still debating starting on the rear or doing track bar and steering. Probably steering aswell as front fenders do alone at fending off the mud.

I've got a radiator in route so tore th old leaking one out

Then remembered I have a grill.

I'm curious what year the grill is. Thinking about ordering some kind of lights. Led?

May replace power steering pump and water pump along with a belt now since its easier

Alternator is new .

Gutted anything to do with the ac well almost. Probably will build a battery tray.

Shes tucked in shop to stay for few days.

Orderd the k suspension headlight harness. Cant decide on what lights.
Feels good to treat her nice do a fee things not necessarily needed right now.

Got the motor end pretty much done. New water pump , steering pump of my parts jeep. Fabbed stand pipe off water pump. 3/8" to 3/4" Barbara for heater hose. Have to figure out heater core end. The one pipe is smaller.
Dont want to rely on a hose clamp to make up the difference. Weld a 3/4 to 3/8" double end barb with short small hose. Something?

Headlights are coming along with a 3" clamp on dry filter
Not entirely sure what is going to happen on the intake. Airbox isn't going back on

Found bolt stuck in between timing indicator and pulley that was making intermittent youd screeching

Snowballing projects...just my kind of thing.

Nice to see I am not the only one to find a bolt trapped between the timing cover and pulley.

My dry filter got here today for 12 bucks I like it. Will probably get a outers prefilter for it.
Offcourse for some reason I bought a k&n to. Ill probably return it I'm not huge on oiled fiters

Headlight harness is in and grill is going in. Seem to be coming up short on nut inserts and screws.

Lights tomorrow and hopefully be back to rolling this weekend

Lights didn't get here yet. That's okay gave me time to get the k2 harness buttoned up and see if it made an improvement. I do think it did.

It's hard to get pictures of lights. When the LEDs get here I'll install one along side the halogen.

I also dont know if these are high or low beams my switch on column is broken. Hoping to fix that with a new column shortly

Walking back they dont seem to be blinding
