Weekend is over...what did you get done?
Rust holes are patched and the 8.8 perches are burned in. Anyone have issues using a front shaft in the rear with an 8.8, sye, and about 4.5 inches of lift?
Also does anyone know of a junkyard source of an 8.8 flange for a 1310 ujoint? All I seam to be finding is 1330.. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

The flange is found only on the first gen Ford Explorers 4x4 up to 1994. If it’s a 2wd they are different.

Weekend is over...what did you get done?
Thanks Ed. That's my combo (4.0 aw4 231).
When I look up ujoints on rockauto it seems to think it's a 1330 joint. Not to be a pain but are you certain on the yoke year? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

Re: Weekend is over...what did you get done?
Got a glass guy coming over today to put a windshield in Annie. Fingers crossed that I got the passenger side A-pillar close enough to accomplish that. Last time he looked at it, he said I was about a half inch from it taking glass. I worked on it with the porta puller and I moved it to within 5* of the angle of the driver's side pillar. He said that the pillars in the XJ don't need to be perfect, so I'm hopeful.
Taking her to Land Between the Lakes on Saturday, and with a 40% chance of rain, a windshield would be a nice addition.

I got my tire carrier fabbed up over the weekend. I took inspiration from Detours Knucklebone. All that's left is to weld on the bolts for the tire and drill a couple more holes. It will be ready for this Saturday's trip to LBL.

Looks good Brian. I got my welder out today and determined it worked. I bought it off a "for sale" forum in Brentwood for $20. A friend of mine has a son who is a welder so I FaceTime'd him and we worked through the machine. Need some parts for it, but once i get them I can start working on learning how to weld.

Re: Weekend is over...what did you get done?
I flushed two heater cores, one in a 1998 XJ and another in the 1998 ZJ. I then swapped out another radiator that was leaking at the tanks. I'm becoming a pro at this. I'm hoping that the 3rd times a charm.
After doing all that the dumb thing doesn't make any heat inside the Jeep. It blows outside temp to slightly warmer but never gets HOT. I burped the air from the heater core lines. The ZJ runs just under 210* with the 4.0L. Any ideas why it isn't warming up good?

I need to get home and look at my Chrysler repair manual and just see what could be causing this. I pushed water both directions through the core before swapping out the radiator so I know it isn't plugged. Flow was good and consistent.
