It will physically fit and bolt right in -- I'm pretty sure the plugs are different though

Plug on the back of the alternator changed in 99. Supposedly you can swap the connectors but that would mean complete disassembly

the back half of the alternator is different

Cutting the sheet metal cover is part of it
