Hello all what is the diff in the main bearings before 1990 and 1991 to 2000 on a 4.0 L 6cyl found some cheap but they say 63 to 90 they are sealpower #MS704PSTD just wondered what was the diff if it was the crank they changed or something about the way the bearings are made?

'63 to '90 would be for the 4.2L 258 used in Cjs and early Wranglers. I am guessing that you have a 4.0L 242 since you are asking on an XJ site.

bearings will be the same; the difference, and the reason they would not work, is that the locater notch in the bearing will be offset wrong for a 4.0 motor.
