ROCKS AND VALLEY - October 17

looking to make a good trip out of the day. i go to school 20 minutes away at central and want to wheel again before the snow comes. syllabuses say no tests, and ive already got the day off of work (full time student, work full time too).

im not quite as heavy as most of you guys, but my 31s and open/open took me just fine down the "35s and lockers" trails. i just stay out of the rocks and enjoy watching.

got a lot of maybes... lets get some people confirmed.

I'd like to check the place out, the pictures I've seen make it look like fun. Is it worth a 2.5 hour drive? Seems like the closest place to Ann Arbor.

Unfortunately I have a midterm on Wednesday the 20, so wheeling on the 17th is a no go for me. Would you be interested going the 8th or 9th? I'm on 31s, locked in front.

im on 31s open/open and handled most of the black diamond trails labeled "35s and lockers required". obviously i took the by pass on some of the obstacles i wasnt willing to tackle without protection.

8th and 9th are a no go for me. im working all weekend. i planned for the 17th as i asked for the day off to visit with a friend. id say the trip is worth it, but then again i only live 20 minutes away. haha.

Too bad. Figured I'd throw it out there. Have fun on the 17. Wish I could make it. Maybe another time.

My midterm got moved to the following week, so I'm up for the 17th. What are the details? Time? Is there a standard meeting spot?

yes, it is worth the trip. Macgyvr drove up with a buddy from Ft Wayne to wheel R&V with me.

VA, are you planning on attending winterfest? I'm 15 miles out of Mt P towards Midland and if you're planning on going down let me know. It's a trip not to miss.

I drove a little over 4 hours to go. The Badlands is a big closer for me at 3 to 3.5 hours. It was a good time (of course Dan was there), and I'll go back again in the future.

glad you PMed me, turned into a nice day, and the weather held out. felt good to get one last run in. ill PM you when turkey (travis) gets those pictures/videos up.

john has very much instilled the date in me. unfortunately as far as financial status goes, all of my money is probably going to be thrown torwards johns axles. i plan to take the days off though, so maybe (worse case scenario) if i cant wheel maybe i can ride with someone?

had a blast, took some more damage but everything was minimal. basically the rear quarters need to GO. i need you to talk to josh about a bumper build. i LOVE the look of his, the one on his red jeep. how were the dunes for you?

drove her home at 80 mph with no issues. 33s will be going on this thursday.

Glad you had no issues getting home. That was a fun place and it was great to meet you and your girlfriend and Turkey and his buddies. Definitely gonna have to do that again sometime.
