Wont shift into park

So i take the jeep out for a test drive yesterday after dealing with the soft brake issues, back it into the garage and it wont go into park. So i go thru the gears some, rock it back and forth, nothing. Shut it off with frustration. ..I come out today, it will push up into the P location and the shifter will lock there but it will never actually shift into park. Now the jeep wont start(in N either) so i am assuming its all intertwined. Key will come out of the ignition and everything but you can rock it back and forth like its in N. Tried searching some but didnt see this exact issue. Lost..

Sounds like the shifter linkage came loose. Similar thing happened to me while flat-towing and the shifter and trans selection was a full slot off.

Nothing is/was loose. Took the linage apart a few mins ago to adjust it, trans still wont go into park pushing on the actual lever.
