case of the dissapearing diff oil

My 8.8 is sqealing bad, everytime I pull the fill plug I see its low. So I spend $15 on a quart of gear oil and the diff takes the whole thing. I put my finger in just a little bit and its full. A week later, I repeat the process. There are no leaks under the diff or from what I can tell, coming out the axle tubes. Ideas?

Vent tube and up into the chassis rail? It can hid a fair bit up in there.

Cheers

Doesn't really help fix the probelm, but stop buying $15 a quart diff fluid for now.

Re: case of the dissapearing diff oil

It calls for 75-140 fully synthetic for LS. Can I substitute for another gear oil?

Re: case of the dissapearing diff oil

Have you pulled the cover? If your oil's gotten that low and it started squealing, you might want to make sure you didn't screw up your bearings, gears, etc.
