Another door buzzer problem.

Hello all. I recently purchased a 99 Limited 4.0 Automatic 4x4. I tried searching and found several door buzzer threads but they didn't seem to answer my problem. My door buzzer is on when the door is open, even with lights off and key out of ignition. Goes off when door is shut. Somethng is up with the key cylinder because I can pull the key out from any position. Could this cause the problem? I have a new key cylinder on order. Any other ideas? Thanks!!

Most likely yes.

Sounds plausible.

While it doesn't exactly solve your problem, I always unplug the speaker in my cars.

One thing you might want to take a look at is the door button switch. Take it out and inspect it. pay close attention to the connectors. those wires that connect to it are small and can short/break easily. This can cause all sorts of BS with the buzzer and interior lights.
