Renix cranking issue

I have an 89 XJ 4L auto.... the issue ive been having is that sometimes itll crank and crank and crank before it fires, but sometimes itll fire right up. Cold or hot, it doesnt matter....
Any suggestions??

check your batt connections, aswell as the bottom side of the battery wire connections. also check the firewall to block ground strap. could cause what your talking about. xj's love electrical issues
