Hey guys and gals,

I know a few of you. I'd just like to encourage you'all to think about coming to Colorado. We will be in the most scenic area of a scenic state. If you like Mts, you'll like Ouray. The trails are not technical, there is one trail with obstacles that need lockers, but there are quite a few shelf roads, which are adrenal inducing in themselves. :) The KOA campground is great, you will be just down the road from the hot springs. We are an easy going bunch, and the evening campfire can get loud and amusing.

Here's the thread:

Here's some pics when we were camped in Silverton. The Ouray KOA is much nicer.

Any questions, feel free to post, or PM me. Hope to entice some of you to join us.

My wife and I spent last August in Western Colorado, towing the XJ behind our 24' motorhome.
We ran much the high altitude stuff between Durango and Ouray, before moving up to the Grand Mesa area.
All I can say is wow!
With all the rain they received earlier in the summer, the whole area was covered with billions of flowers, a sight for someone from dry SoCal.
It is, by far, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Two downsides, first being the altitude-induced lack of power (need a stroker) and the other being the heavy summertime traffic, caused by too may ATV and Jeep rental places.
Many of these folks have no idea how to drive or about off-road etiquette.
