So i know a guy who has a cira 1960's shiwnn bike and was wondering if i want to restore it. so im looking into it. Does anyone no of any websites that deal with this kind of stuff or have experience in this area?

Why are you wanting to restore, to sell or your own use?

I have done a couple restos, including a 1936 Raleigh, and a resto-mod for my current fixed gear.

I did my own sort of bike resto.... a 50's-60's trike. Much cheaper to buy initially than the big bikes, but takes a little ingenuity to get or find parts for them. Here is my first project before and after.

And heres my next project trike.... from 1977!

Those are very impressive. For paint did you do it with a can of automotive paint or what

Rustoleum spray bomb.... its all I have access to use for paint at the moment.... and also to keep resto cost down on a project that isnt worth that much even when restored. I sandblasted the parts, used automotive rustoleum etching primer, then regular primer, and then topcoat, and a little bondo to fill the rust craters. Just takes lots of careful prep to turn out decent.
