Goat Mountain Xmas Tree Run 12/8/18

After a year off due to moving days before Christmas last year I'm heading back out to Goat Mountain area to find a Christmas Tree in the woods.


We'll meet at the ranger station in Estacada at 9am. They have a new system, permits are available online at https://openforest.fs.usda.gov or can be purchased the day of at the Estacada Tackle Shop. Unclear from the website if permits are available at the ranger station anymore so better to plan ahead.


It'll be (hopefully) a snow run with trees being optional. We'll probably go up to the summit of Goat then head over toward the South Fork rock pit and play and get trees over that area. Plan ahead, be prepared yada yada.

Opal and I are tentatively in. we have some driveshaft vibes to diagnose on her rig and have plans to hang out with some old friends that night but those are not set in stone yet.

We've got my wife's Christmas Party that night so we won't be in the woods late either.
