If you've never done a heater core swap on an XJ......pay someone else to do it!! What a royal pain in the arse!! I knew i had a small leak in the evap coil...so I had to swap in a new one of those as well. The middle knob on the HVAC controls came apart on me so I've got to figure that puzzle out tomorrow as well.
Got the new core and evap coil in the housing and reinstalled. Still gotta finish putting the dash back together in the AM. The middle knob on the HVAC controls came apart on me so I've got to figure that puzzle out tomorrow as well.

going to put a new blower motor in whle you're there? or is that accessible from the bottom?

The motor can be accessed from the engine bay, and no I'm not replacing it.
