UT- Kane Creek

Handlebars

A nice trail following a perennial stream that combines sandy washouts, water crossings and a ledgy dugway clinging to the wall of a narrow canyon. This is a major drainage, be aware that if it floods while you are in the middle of the trail you will have to wait for the water to subside so check the weather before you go.

The .gpx file has a track and waypoints that correspond to those in Charles Wells' Guide to Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails, Second Edition. The waypoints are labeled 27##.

Here is a map showing them:

Kane Creek has carved out a quite beautiful canyon

The dugway up the side of the canyon is one of the rougher parts of the trail

Muleshoe Canyon is usually the worst part of the whole thing

Most of the sandy washouts can be avoided
