Ideas for events

So we are looking for some ideas on different things we can do during events. Anybody have any suggestions for what you would like to see at Reno Fest? Same for sierra fest?

For Reno:
As one of the trails for the week, I'd like Bronco or Deadhorse. I did neither last year. I don't think I've missed doing a Bronco run at least once a year...

For Sierra Fest: I like what we do. My vote is Rubicon / Hermit over Shaver Lake.

I might do a Moab trip during October break. I think a Sierra Chapter Moab trip would be awesome.

Not everything has to be an event. Let’s start posting runs on the forum again. Weekend camping trip, day run to the snow.

Make 2020 rock crawl again!

For Reno, the time I went, we had a good time on Steve’s Loop. But it was kind of odd getting into a basically empty camp at like 9:45 Friday night. If the trails are going to be like an hour from the camp, consider not doing night runs on travel days and/or shorter trails? Maybe I was the only one who worked a full day on Friday.

Is there a way to camp at the trails like Rubicon or Deer Valley?

For Sierrafest, Amelia’s school starts back before the event is held. Move to July?:roflmao:

I think we should go to Chuck E Cheese and have a pizza party and play some Skee Ball !

I'd enjoy this as a new wheeler. I haven't been on anything other than pavement and a mile of the Rubicon. My front axle (CAD) wasn't even connected to vacuum for that run and I made it to Soup Bowl...as my first trip.

Played around Prison Hill one day but other than that it's all been pavement.

If it was a friday nigjt run it would have been prison Hill in Carson City. That one's always a toss up and usually ends late because we dont leave camp on time haha. If we stick to a 3 departure from Camp Friday that would make it much better but we always end up leaving around 6. Saturday we are talking about doing a run we're both groups are in the same area then afterwards meet up at Pizza instead of a barbecue so nobody loses time in Reno going shopping and having to come back early to barbecue. And some day of course do they run that everybody can go to.

If we are planning to do pizza Sunday after the Bronco/hard run like we normally do, Id prefer something different than pizza for the after Saturday run.

For sure. Maybe Saturday after the run we can hit the sports bar out by the trails and everyone just defend for themselves. And Sunday after the run the chapter can cover pizza?

You talking about Bullys? Assuming you're running Twister/Billy Bob/Moonrocks. There is also The Lakes Bar and Grill across the street. CJs Palace down Pyramid by Walmart might work for a good sized group. Las Trojes Mexican food.
If you do the whole Hunter Lake trail drive there might be other options like a casino.

Pizza...I'm partial to Wild Garlic/Blind Onion.

I’d be interested in knowing more about Reno Fest. Is a date set? Will details be posted on the forum?

Renofest is Memorial Day Weekend every year and is held typically at Davis Creek Campground: between Reno and Carson City.

Something that Blondejon has been doing at the recent Meet N Greets is asking Jeep Trivia for NAXJA gear.

I was just thinking we could do this at Renofest and Sierrafest. Ask a few trivia questions for a chance to win a raffle ticket or a NAXJA Swag Pack (Shirt, Stickers, and Coozie)

That sounds good. Long as there's just strictly dumb chance opportunities for Knuckleheads like me.
