Shifter and NSS out of alignment

My 1995 XJ 2-door was bought with a cheap 3in. lift.



Somehow when installing it the PO didn't re-adjust the shifter. When in reverse, it almost shows that it's in drive. This also screws with the neutral safety switch. I have to click it out of park and halfway into Reverse in order to start most of the time!


Anybody have a write-up of how to adjust this properly? I just know at some point I'm going to end up starting in reverse and backing right into something.

Sorry, when it's in reverse, it looks as if it's in park.

Adjust the shifter linkage to the transmission, the NSS is operated thru the transmission.
