new crank position sensor, new coil pickup (cam sensor), new iac, and new fuel filter. im at a loss. is this a symptom of the check valve in the fuel pump? thanks for the help, and ill answer any questions you have.

oh, its a '96 xj classic with a bolted-in obd1 port, and a loose obd2 port. obd2 showed high voltage temp sensor, and i havent gotten the obd1 to flash any codes yet. injectors have been cleaned and dont leak, and the rough start is intermittent, sometimes wont be rough all day, and somedays wont start right at all.

Take a look at the temp sensor issue. If it reads a low temp it could be flooding it out. In the video it looks super rich. Check all the wiring and maybe just throw a new sensor in. They're cheap and easy to change.

yea, stinking rich. fuel cap vent and tank vent are fine, but tomorrow ill check the temp sensor and pump check valve.
thanks.

intermittent problems are the worst. i cant fix it until it starts acting up again. or maybe it just likes the rain...

i was hoping this thread would have been more helpful, but alas, the jeep fixed itself. iat sensor made it to my local azone yesterday evening around 6, and i took the jeep to pick it up. it had been starting fine all day, drove fine without stumbling, and when i got there to pick up the part i had em run my obd2, and i was code free. started fine this morning, too. i'm guessing i cleaned the right ground, and reset the computer at the right time. the crank sensor isnt bad at all if you drop the front driveshaft, and the 'cam sensor' is called a coil pick-up on the azone computer. ill be back when i have more problems, but heres a pic for letting me lurk.

bastardized sensor they gave me for a '96 (crooked ears)

Any ideas on what your resolution was? My 2001 XJ started rough after a light rain this morning. Runs fine now and no codes from OBD.

The OP hasn't been here since 3/2018.
