Re: Project "The Gray Goose"

Yeh the door opened, was just super stuck. I already popped out the dent and door works perfectly again. Need to do quarter guards but need tires before I feel safe to wheel again.

Re: Project "The Gray Goose"

I think I'm going to stick with slightly newer rubber for now Josh considering tire age is the reason one de-treaded and went flat on me trying to get out of Sac, I appreciate the offer tho. I do have a small list of things I may be interested in off your jeep though either way, if you part out the whole thing or just the body.

Sorry to hear about that too

Re: Project "The Gray Goose"

OK, pic time. I wont post all because there are like 70..

This was my Girlfriend's first time wheeling and she loved it. We're already making plans for our next trip (Whenever that may be). Most of the photo cred goes to her.

Think this is my favorite picture of the Jeep the whole trip

Re: Project "The Gray Goose"

Yeh, JeepinSeal completed it 31s open/open with minor tugs/winch and a lot of stacking.

Actually Josh, lmk what your price is if you do end up selling the tires.

Re: Project "The Gray Goose"

So no updates as of late for the Gray Goose. She will be getting some upgrades in the next month or so. Ill try to get a few pics of the rear tire I shredded on the way to the Rubicon tonight. For now here are a few pics of my new project.

Trailer is a 1998 Palomino. 16' from spare to hitch mount and has a whole list of goodies. These include an outdoor shower, indoor/outdoor stove, king/queen beds at the ends, refrigerator and a water heater. Pics are from the CL ad. Has a few rips and minor leaks that need to be fixed. Planning on fixing it up, using it a few times and then sell it to pick up a smaller one.

Re: Project "The Gray Goose"

Yeh I was there summer of 2013 racing my stadium truck almost every Wednesday night. I was sandbagging in the novice class most of the summer Bc I didn't want to pay the $20 entry fee. I didn't try too hard, it was more of a chance to get back on the track and drive. My equipment was outdated (brushed) so I didn't want to race with the unlimited guys. I also ran 2 onroad races with my Losi xxxs with a silvercan in the rookie class one time and sportsman 17.5 for the powers race. What class did you race? BTW, it's actually a trailer hitch cover. Lol

Re: Project "The Gray Goose"

Killer deal on the trailer man. I've thought about picking one up a lot. Going to be towing it with the XJ?

Re: Project "The Gray Goose"

That is the plan. Just need to fix the trailer wiring in the jeep so the lights all work. Then I can test it and see if the 4 pin works on it. Currently has a 7 pin but with a connector that looks like a 4 pin could hook up to it. Until I fix the drainer wiring, I'll be pulling it with my truck.
Took the jeep to Prairie city today with JeepinSeal and had some fun. He broke a ujoints strap bolt and Bent a rim lip. Need to get tires soon so I can drive it and not have to worry about rotted tires and no spare. Good note was I got the gf and her sister into the drivers seat and they enjoyed it a little. They were worried about breaking the jeep but were able to overcome the fear.
