AX15 clutch fork

Anyone know which is the correct position for the clutch fork? 1994 Ax15.
Just pulled my transmission to fix a broken clutch fork clip. Had mine mounted with the throwout bearing spring clip slots on the right passenger side of the bearing retainer. Going online and looking at photos I see these things mounted both ways, right and left. I do believe it makes a difference, actually 1/2” from one side to the other. Mounted my clutch 93,000 miles ago and used a new clip.
Thanks

FWIW, my '96 had those slots to the driver's side when I pulled it apart. But a previous owner had been in there before, and the P.O. was not necessarily the most skilled as a mechanic.

I will suggest that if your throwout bearing is one that came with a clutch kit, now would be the time to upgrade to a real bearing. Don't ask why I make such a suggestion...
