I'm in the middle of swapping out a 2.5L for a 4.0L and noticed a few things:

the motor mounts in my donor truck are shot.

the motor mounts that were with the 2.5L are almost new.

both look identical except for the 4.0L's ones being torn.

I'd love to use the 2.5L ones with the 4.0L. sure looks like it'll work.

As far as I know, there are different part numbers for them, so they must be different. Then again, who can trust DC?

All the brackets are different, but you're probably asking for the rubber things? The "steel tube" (don't know the correct word) inside the rubber, which is to be connected to the engine brackets, is shorter. Also, you'll need to drill a new hole in the bracket in the car. I'm using a mixture of 4,0 and 2,5 engine mounts on my 4,0, to shim the engine a little forward, so I didn't have to cut the firewall (swapped a 4,0 into a 1986 2,5 XJ). So the answer is yes, they will work, but you'll need some shims/washers on both sides, drill one hole, and I'm not sure how long they'll last, as they're not made for the heavy and strong 4,0.
