Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

Last week I had installed the Rigid Fab Sliders and Tested them on Rattlesnake and Constrictor at 5 Mile Pass OHV. I wish I taken more Pics but I was the Trail guide an spend some time spotting a kid in a ZJ whom was new to wheeling .

Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

I guess Black Betty will be getting a winch bumper sooner than planned thanks to the kid in the white XJ whom was a new driver paying more attention to his female passengers than the road an ran a red light, Slamming into a civic which spun 180* an the momentum carried it into my XJ that was sitting Stationary at the light !
The good thing is noone was hurt badly (I pulled a muscle in my back an popped a rib out of place )

I was the only one able to drive away ! My XJ suffered 3100 in damage according to a Body shop, an My Insurance Appraiser.
The XJ's damage was at 68% of the Value of the Jeep this it was not considered a Total Loss I am ecstatic about That. I am going threw my Insurance company an letting them duke it out with the At-Fault Party's insurance company for their money.

My Insurance Check is Being Mailed to me Tomorrow Morning An I intend of Building/Repairing my Jeep myself on my Days off of work over the next few weeks. My plans are to Replace the header ( I've found a few for sale locally cheap ! ) The bumper will be replaced with a Rigid FBW2 with a XRC8 W/ Synthetic Rope, JCR Gastank skid, Rear Locker, And installing my new lift I have in my Storage closet. I'm also picking up 5 Toyo Open Country M/T's with 1,200 miles off a coworker an Selling my 31's to my buddy for his CJ.

It is unforutne about the situation, But Overall I am rather happy I can build/repair my Jeep for less than replacing it with Stock parts an Still pocket around $1000 which is going towards my EJS Trip next year !

Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

Thats pretty funny that a moded cherokee caused the wreck... dang xj owners..

So the white xj hit the mazda and the civic?

Good to hear no one was hurt though.

Yep, He hit the passenger side door, An rear quarter panel on the civic. Which spun it an momentum shot it toward my XJ that was sitting at the light. After the civic was hit the XJ spun 90* to the right and hit the mazda head on !

All of the damage to the front of the civic was caused by hitting my XJ !

The XJ had to be towed away due to suspension damage (Bent UCA/LCA and Shock on P/S)
Civic was Totaled (Pretty Obvious )
Mazda 3 (Not sure on amount of damage)
My XJ $3100 in damage (Insurance Check is being Mailed Tomorrow)

Dang, that kid sure caused a mess in that intersection. Good thing everyone is OK in the end. Sounds like you'll be doing really OK once you get your check.

Lookin forward to the pics to come...

Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

Once you get the rigid front and rear bumpers going our jeeps are going to be twins. Gotta love the black on black on black 99...

Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

Just a small update !

Yesterday, I had ordered a Dirtbound Offroad Extreme Hoop Kit for the Rigid FBW2 Winch Bumper that I am going to order on the next few days. Once it arrives I will take it over to Terry (Rigid Fab) an I'll have him weld it up while he is making my bumper !

This is what the hoop look like for those whom live under a rock an have not seen it !

Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

good job on taking out the civic. one less ricer!

Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

Real nice rig, sorry about the fender bender, but it sounds like it's gonna work out in your favor and pay for a few new parts! :p

I really like that bumper, I might have to look into one of those.

The guy with the civic was actually pretty cool he was in the process of building it for autocross. I kinda feel bad for him considering my DD was my Autocross car which could be considered a Ricer also.

Yes the pic was taken at the Bonneville Salt Flats. An my car is starting to rust out since I went there

Re: Tom95YJ's Faimly Wheeler Build ...

my employee just got one of those. looks like fun. not sure if that's considered ricer as kids dont generally buy them.
still no love for the honduhs from me. had 2, biggest POS's i've ever had. and i own a jeep.

I've owned a 95 civic and swapped in a fullybuilt B16 engine in it. I sold it to my brother after I got sick of people trying to steal it non stop. I never had one issue with it other than it getting broken into on a weekly basis . I see tons of kids starting to buy miata's now they are like the new Nissan 240. Once prices start to skyrocket on them I fully intend of selling the Miata to fund a CJ7 or YJ Purchase for my DD

A miata is alot different than a CIVIC
I autoX this

True, An I've always had a thing for E30's I used to race against one in Texas it was always a fierce competitor !

I'm pretty much an all around automotive enthusiast if it has tires and an engine I like it as long as it is built with a plan an done with taste
