Remote Starter

My toys have finally filled the garage and this winter my wife's van will be out in the cold. I figured it would be nice to get her a remote starter. Can anyone recommend a brand?

I see there was a similar topic in the OEM forum last week, but it didn't get many responses so I'm trying here.

http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/
made in the city my grandmother lives in. Shitty website, they probably have a plug in harness for the van, so you can avoid the cut and splice mess.

Re: Remote Starter

A harness would be great. I've done lights and trailer wiring, but never attempted anything like this. Thanks for the link.

Depending on the model and make of the vehicle you have to watch out for the Theft Imobilizers. They make an imobilizer bypass module for most newer Ford vehicles and similar vehicles with the computer chip in the key. Personally I used to install remote starts on cars at a shop and the brand we carried,DEI, sucked! The remotes were always messin up.

most DEI electronics suck, China right there. I remember when the DEI sirius units came out, under the Xact name, great features, but everyone on the sirius board that bought it replaced it in 6 months because it was a POS.
