I don't need a new starter, just new brushes

I also just needed brushes for my starter, which was otherwise fine. I went to an electric motor repair shop, and they were able to fix me up with a set that worked perfectly. That was 4 or 5 years ago, still going strong.

My started just went bad yesterday and a new one is like $95, how do I know if I just need new brushes?

Give NAPA a try. I know they have brushes for some alternators.

If you live anywhere near a larger town there will be someone who rebuilds alternators and starters. I got mine done for $35.

my starter just went out well i thought it went out found out it was just a bad connection.
