Transfer Case replacement
Would a 242 select trac out of a zj be able to replace my 242 out of my 97 xj county. I needed a replacement but my local salvage yard didnt have a cherokee with the part time..full time option like my xj does.. so i gambled and pulled it.. did i make a 60 dollar mistake or will this work? Thanks

Re: Transfer Case replacement
if the replacement came out of a 4.0 truck it should swap right in. If it came from a V8 the input shaft may be different.
There were a couple of different length input shafts used. And also a 21 and 23 spline version. Wont know till you pull yours and look at both input shafts. |

Re: Transfer Case replacement
it should be fine as long although you may need to swap speedo assemblies
