I just put a new column in my 91. It has the amc style key. Can I get a later model Chrysler lock cylinder and put it in the older column? Thanks

The AMC style key is actually for a General Motors built steering column that AMC/Jeep purchased and installed. My AMC/Jeep CJ-7 has a similar GM steering column. I have never tried that particular parts exchange, but chances for success IMO are remote.

Are you talking about the early single sided key and the later double sided key? If so then I don't see why not. My 92 still has the gm column but uses the later double sided key. The cylinder looks just like all the other ones. But I have never swapped back and forth.
