ELECTRIC FAN FOR 84-86 RADIATOR?

I've searched for which fan might fit into a early xj but can only find installs into the 87 and later models , who has installed one into a early model and what were the results and what fan did you use? The taurus /sable fan looks promising but dont have one to measure.

I have an 86 with the 2.5L and the Taurus fan fits. I got mine from the junk yard for $15 which is a pretty good deal. I had it mounted up but didn't install it yet because I am researching the best fan controller to use. So if anyone knows a good electric fan controller to use I am interested in your opinions.

I have a taurus fan on my 85 2.8L and it fits just fine. It keeps the engine cool on low in 95+ degree weather and working hard offroad. As for a controller, I just have it on a switch, and during the summer, I just leave it on all the time unless I am on the highway.
