UT- Onion Creek/Rose Garden Hill/Top of the World

These three trails can easily be made into a large loop although it can make for a long, bumpy ride. Rose Garden Hill has a bouldery climb that is probably a little too much for a stock Jeep. The scenery along all of these trails is spectacular, which is good as the road is just rough enough to make you go slow. Plan on leaving early and getting home late, or just do one of them.

The .gpx file contains tracks for Onion Creek, Rose Garden Hill and Top of the World (thanks to Mike Rollins for the contribution!) and waypoints that correspond to the ones in Charles Wells' Guide to Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails, Second Edition that are labeled as follows:
  • 36## - Onion Creek, Fisher Towers
  • 38## - Top of the World
  • 39## - Dolores River Overlook
  • 40## - Rose Garden Hill
Note that you would start from Hwy 128 and drive the entire Onion Creek Trail to travel uphill on Rose Garden Hill. Here is a map showing these three trails and waypoints:
