UT- Moab Rim

There are a lot of reasons to love this trail. It is the closest one to town, making for a great, short trip. When you are really pressed for time you can just do the first mile where it climbs nearly 900 feet up huge, off camber ledges that tilt you out to get a better view of the nearby Colorado River. It rewards wheeling experience, regularly scaring the cr@p out of people with rigs that are built beyond the driver’s skills. Some days you can have the entire rim to yourself. Unfortunately, other days can be gridlocked like rush hour on the freeway.

Included in the .gpx file is a track and waypoints from Charles Wells' Guide to Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails, Second Edition. It is surprising how easy it is to loose the trail when coming back down in the dark so don’t be afraid to use your GPS on such a short trip, you just never know how it will end. Some people may actually want to do this one at night!
