After some serious thought I decided to go ahead and start our build.
My daughter and I decided start by removing the bumpers, flares, and cut the fenders. Tomorrow I start on the bumpers.
Here are a few pictures of our day at work and the progress we made

looks like its coming right along! that is so cool to see your daughter getting in to it and catching the jeepin bug!

since your rig has the 2.8 v6 did it come stock with 4.10 gearing??

Looking good bro. I also like the LP Frame... Gotta love the Ramones

You and your daughter don't mess around... straight to the cutting! What are you planning to do? How much lift does it have? Are those blocks in the back?

Don't ditch that front skid like a lot of people do. Even if you're lifted too high to protect the diff, it directs sticks and junk downward away from your soft underbelly.

It's great to see a "real" family! My daughter has been helping me with various Jeeps since age 11, plus we built her own "YJ" for mud drags! She's still into at the age of 27!

I think you need to move to WA and introduce me to your daughter...lol.
She's at least 16, right? :)

Seriously though that's awesome you got your daughter into Jeeps, AND working on them. I could only wish there were girls up here who did that.

P.S. Don't worry, I'm not some pedo. I'm 18 hah.

good job on the fenders, you puttin flares on? looks good

Thanks for all the complaments guys.
I got to tell ya that I'm pretty excited to do this with her. She doesn't mind getting dirty at all. That's a country girl for ya.
We had fun cutting the fenders. it all turned out pretty good! We cut the upper flare line on the front wich made for a good amount of clearence. In the rear we cut up to the spot welds then we cut slots in the rest and folded it under. I'm thinking we'll probably cut and redo the very back panel. The area behind the tire is pretty low and I'm thinking I'll cut up to the next body line.
The jeep does have the 2.8, 5speed manual, and 207 TC. From what I've read, it's not the best combo. I'm not sure what gears are in it though I believe it's 4.10's. The tags are gone. The last owner painted the diff covers and didn't reinstall the tags. The rig had a tow package so I'm sure it's 4.10's
Our plan is to lift it to about 6.5 inches, install long arms. We were going to run 35's but because of the weak drivetrain we decided on 33"s. Anyone want to trade some 33"s for some 35"s???
We'll start fabbing bumpers, armor, sliders, skids and so on (the reason for the 6'5 lift) by next weekend. I started on the rear bumper brackets all ready so the rear should go pretty quick
I'm waiting on installing the lift because I need to order a few more parts before I get started. I need rear springs, extended stainless brake lines, drop steering arm, and an adjustable track bar and bracket.
I'll take more pics next weekend to keep you updated.
Have a good work week and a happy turkey day!!!!

Sounds like you can fab. You can always build your own trac bar mount. I did this.

Very easy. That one took me about 30-45mins. Good look, your girl looks pretty.
