M416 Trailer

How many of you out there are building of have build a M416 trailer?

I have been building one for about 3 months now. Anyone looking for a good project/offroad trailer really ought to consider this.

off topic, but where do you find trailers like that?

I bought mine from a friend for $250. You can find them on E-Bay all the time. Some of them get pretty pricy but I have seen them go for less than $500. There in one on there now.

You were asking on the other tread about stripping the paint, you could always go with a chemical stripper or what I've been using lately is a Cleaning Disc from 3M. go to WWW.EASTWOOD.COM part# 13395. 4 ½” or 7” they really cut through the paint and rust, down side is there pricey and they don’t last all that long. They cheaper through Eastwood but you could pick one up at Lowe’s just to try; at least they carry them at my store. There is another brand that makes them (can’t think of the name right off) but Lowe’s carries then also for a few bucks less.

I was worried about the mess with chemicals. I ended up using 60 grit flapper disks and a knotted wire. I'm pretty sure the disks where 3M. They worked really well. I am going to sandblast it soon to get all of the nooks a crannys and hard reach areas. Then I just have to diplcolor the inside of the tub and spray the outside.
