Broken: rear axle shock mount

Here's the deal: Taking off my old shocks, and the nut on the end of the pressed in bolt in the rear axle snaps off, leaving no threads on the bolt. I was thinking of getting it rethreaded, but it's not long enough as is.

Ideas for a fix, anything short of cutting off the whole bracket and getting a new one welded on? I know this would be a 'great time' to move the brackets up, but i just got new 10" 5150s, and if I relocated the brackets up a few inches I'd have ZERO uptravel. Any ideas?

thanks
Chris

cut the stud off flush with a grinder.
Drill it for a bolt, then sleeve the bolt where the shock bushing rides.

oh, good call! Thanks man, I'll give that a shot! It's one of those things I've been staring at it for awhile and came up with nuthin', needed some new ideas.

Gracias

Chris

welcome.
That's what I did with my MJ upper shock mount after the impact had it's way with the stud.
